SPECTRE - UAV System

For senior design, my class designed a mission SPECTRE - UAV system for exploration on Mars. I served on the project systems engineering team and the science sub-team. The system comprises of four drones and a rover. Each of the drones have mounted cameras for low-res, high-res and hyperspectral imaging on the Martian surface. The scientific objectives of the mission are to survey the surface of Mars for hydrated minerals and biosignatures such as stromatolies. My team designed the Science Traceability matrix and defined the scientific objectives. We also performed the calculations necessary to designate a region of interest and determine the number of sites to investigate for mission success. We also defined the modes of flight for the UAV in Martian atmosphere and analyzed power budgeting requirements.
